Brandon Dubinsky, Erik Christensen and Dan Girardi notched two assists apiece, and the Rangers avoided a collapse like Saturday’s 5-4 shootout loss to Ottawa, in which they gave away a 4-1 lead with 12 minutes to play. They had lost their home opener to Toronto, 4-2, last Thursday.

Anisimov played despite saying Monday morning that he had lost consciousness “for a couple seconds” when Senators forward Zenon Konopka checked him face-first into the boards during Saturday’s loss to Ottawa.

At John Tortorella’s press conference Monday, a Rangers kegogo spokesman clarified that Anisimov had misunderstood the question and that 23-year-old Russian forward had not, in fact, lost consciousness after being hit.
